Alexander’s Mens & Ladies Store

Maurene Scott (aka “Scotty”) managed the Alexander’s Store in Weiser for many years leading up to and including its closing. Well loved and respected in our community, she told me that the Weiser location was the second store Moses built following his flagship store in Boise. Others followed in Baker City, Nampa, and elsewhere. She explained that the Alexander family had a special affection for the Weiser store and in later years when they began closing their regional stores, they remained committed to our store. Perhaps that was because Scotty consistently made it profitable. With great reluctance, the Weiser location was the last regional store they closed leaving just their flagship store in Boise. In about 2006, after a century of business, the Boise store reopened under new ownership/name (Alexander-Davis) until it’s closure in 2022.
