Audrey Joanne (Korup) Hoobing, 88, passed away at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Boise, Idaho, in the presence of her family on December 23, 2015. Joanne was born in Weiser, Idaho on August 9, 1927, to Fred and Audrey (Liddle) Korup. Joanne attended public schools and graduated from Weiser High School in 1945, then moved to Boise where she met and married William (Bill) Hoobing on August 20, 1946, residing in Boise until her death.
Joanne spent most of her early married years as a loving wife and mother. She and Bill had 65 wonderful years together until his death. Later when her daughters were older, she worked as a secretary at Peasley Transfer and Storage and later at Idaho First National Bank (Broadway Branch) and Pulliam & Associates. At retirement, she and Bill spent much of their time camping and traveling with their longtime best friends, as well as partying and cheering on the Boise Broncos at every Bronco Football game. Many dogs and a few cats over the years were a constant source of enjoyment to them also. She participated in a pinochle club for nearly 60 years, played Bridge with dear friends, loved parties, attended concerts, enjoyed going to movies, and dearly loved her family and good friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Connie (Hoobing) McMahon, of Boise, Idaho and Janice (Jan) (Hoobing) Snider (Steve) of Georgetown, Ohio, five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Ralph Hoobing, along with nieces, nephews, numerous more family members, and many longtime friends. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Bill, sister, Marjorie, and her parents.
The family would like to thank the staff of St. Luke’s Medical Center for their compassionate care in the time she was there.
Services will be held on January 25th at 11:00 a.m. with a reception immediately following, at Bowman Funeral located at 10254 W. Carlton Bay (off State Street near Eagle) (853-3131).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the charity of your choice.
