Barbara (Garrett) Kirkevold Kimmel
Barbara E. Kirkevold – Kimmel 91, passed away January 4th, 2019 with family by her side. Born the fourth daughter to Harry and Mildred Garrett on August 31,1927 in Ontario, Oregon and was raised in Weiser, Idaho, she married Erle O. Kirkevold in 1950 and together they raised a family of 4 girls and 6 boys until Erle’s passing in 1990. Barbara worked in retail, primarily at Frederick & Nelson in Downtown Seattle for over 30 years.
Barbara remarried in 2002 to Bobby Lee Kimmel, in Hayward, CA and they enjoyed 11 years together prior to his passing. An avid knitter for many years, she also enjoyed fishing, family and social gatherings. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Mildred, husband Erle, sisters, Anne, Mickey and Edna, daughter Kay and son, Kirk and husband Bobby Lee. She is survived by daughters Pat Edmund (Jim), Barbara Kirkevold (Joe), Stephannie Flynn, sons John Kirkevold (Mika), Paul Kirkevold, Keefe Kirkevold (Phuong), Kim Kirkevold, Karl Kirkevold (Becky), and Step-son Jeff Kimmel (Marty), and seventeen Grandchildren, nine Great-Grandchildren.
