Donald Edward Winbigler
Donald Edward Winbigler went to be with the Lord on December 10, 2022, with his wife of 71 years, his children and grandchildren at his bedside.
Don was born to Thurlow and Edna Winbigler on September 1, 1926 in Weiser, Idaho. He graduated from Weiser High School and joined the U.S. Navy in 1943 at the age of 17. He was involved with the battle for the Philippines and Okinawa in the Pacific Theater and participated in the occupation of Japan at the end of WWII. He left the Navy in 1946 and enrolled at the College of Idaho where he received a degree in Economics in 1950. Don met Elizabeth (Betty) Jean Grice and they were married in 1951. Don and Betty moved to Caldwell, Idaho in 1961 with their 3 children; Sally, Todd and Jim.

Don was assistant traffic manager at J.R. Simplot Company for 28 years until his retirement in 1989. Don was a Deacon at Boone Memorial Presbyterian Church for many years and devoted much of his time to that ministry. Don was an avid outdoorsman and led his family on many camping, fishing and hunting trips in Oregon and Idaho. He loved sports and was a BSU Bronco football fan.
Don was a very hard worker with a tremendous work ethic which he instilled in his children. He was an amazing father and devoted husband.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Tom and his son Jim. He is survived by his wife Betty, his son Todd and his daughter Sally Aspiri as well as many grandchildren and great – grandchildren. We all send you to glory with much respect and endless love.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the Christ Community Church, 603 Everett St., Caldwell.
