Built in 1890, 2 story brick, at the cost of $5,000 (about $160,000 in 2023 dollars,) East Side School was also called Longfellow School. There were 4 rooms in the original building, then in 1897 2 more rooms were built on the back (north side).
Teachers the first year were Frank Jenny, Nijah Garrison,Frances Galloway, Emma Cope VanSice.
In 1949 the students then started going to a new building at xxx (the current Jr. High School building,) and the East Side School was demolished in early 1950s.
