Florence Carper (Cooper) Lint passed away on April 29, 2017, at a Sacramento, California hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born on June 14, 1927, in Weiser, Idaho, to parents Steve and Harriette Cooper. Florence was a twin sister of Lucille Kassis who resides in Boise, Idaho. She attended schools in Weiser, graduating with the high school class of 1945. Following graduation, she attended Oregon State University for one year before transferring to the University of Idaho and receiving a B.S. degree in Business in 1949.
She met and married Sgt. William Carper, and they were the parents of two sons, Steve and Mike. Sgt. Carper passed away in 1996, and Steve in 2007. Florence was a founding member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Boise. She was active in the church choir and was a member of the Philoptochos Society at the Church and a longtime member of the Daughters of Penelope Chapter.
Florence married Dale Lint on December 2, 2000, in Sacramento, California. She continued to reside there until her death. She is survived by her husband, Dale; her son Mike Carper (wife Bridget); daughter-in-law Barbara Carper; stepsons Steve Lint and Mike Lint; stepdaughters Sue Lint and Marilyn Lint (deceased); five grandchildren (one deceased); five great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her twin sister Lucille Kassis; nephews Bill, Tom (wife Jennifer), and Jim Kassis; along with six great-nieces and nephews.
Trisagion will be at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel on May 12, 2017, at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Greek Orthodox Church on May 13, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Morris Hill Cemetery. Contributions in Florence’s name may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 7584 Center Pkwy, Sacramento, CA 95823, or a favorite charity.
