Mary (Linkous) Sanford
Mary Jane (Linkous) Sanford, 94, of Carson City, Nev., formerly of Payette passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2006. A Christian memorial service was held 1 p.m., Saturday, April 15, 2006 at Hilltop Community Church, Carson City, Nev. Graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Monday, April 17, 2006 at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weiser. A visitation for family and friends will be from 9 a.m. to noon at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette prior to the service. Memorial services are under the direction of FitzHenry’s Funeral Home, Carson City, Nev. Graveside services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Mrs. Sanford was born Sept. 26, 1911 at Weiser, Idaho. She was a daughter of Barney and Maggie (Still) Linkous. She was reared and attended schools through high school at Weiser.
She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Payette, Idaho and most recently a member of the Hilltop Community Church in Carson City, Nev. She was also a member of Lorraine Chapter 20 Order of Eastern Star.
Mary loved the Lord, her family and music, especially organ music including hymns and popular music of the 20s through the 50s.
She is survived by step-son, Gerald Dwight Sanford of Thayne, Wyo.; daughters, Anita Jane Colledge of Midvale, Utah and Judy Colleen Sheppard of Carson City, Nev.
July 9, 1935 she married Samuel Dwight Sanford. He preceded her in death July 1, 1986. She was also preceded in death by her brother and three sisters.
Memorials may be made to VistaCare Hospice, Hilltop Community Church of Carson City or the First Baptist Church of Payette, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, Idaho 83661.
