RICH STRIKE MADE NEAR WEISER Some Excitement Caused by News and Rush Made to District

WEISER Aug 2 — It has leaked out that good finds of gold were made a short distance out from Weiser yesterday. There has been a rush of men all day over to Moore’s Hollow in Oregon and claims are being staked out all up and down the Hollow. Some of the ore that has been assayed has gone as high as $102.00 to the ton and from that down to $20.00. There is considerable excitement over the discovery and a constant stream of men is going and coming in automobiles and carriages to and from Weiser. It is said that the presence of gold has been known by some to be there for over a month and a few claims had been staked for some time but it was not until the returns from the assay office became known that the rush started.
