Nancy Sue Michael
Nancy Sue Michael, 72, of Nampa, formerly of Weiser, Idaho, was relieved of suffering on November 6, 2018, in a Nampa care center.
Nancy was born on October 2, 1946, in Weiser, Idaho, the daughter of Bill and Vella Michael.
Nancy Sue (she was always Nancy Sue as a child) started school at Sunnyside, a small country school in her neighborhood. Nancy Sue graduated from Weiser High School in 1964 and then continued her education at Kinman Business University in Spokane.
Finishing at Kinman, Nancy moved to Salem, Oregon, and worked for the State of Oregon for several years.
Her Aunt Jean and paternal grandmother Alpha were in Salem. The three of them enjoyed trips to the Oregon coast and lots of fun times together.
She later moved to Boise and started working for the State of Idaho in the Public Works Contract Licensing Department. Nancy worked 25 years for the Department, eventually becoming the administrator. Nancy retired in 2003.
Nancy inherited a classic 1955 Chevy pickup from her Dad and proceeded to restore it. She painted it blue, put a license plate with her mother’s name on it, and called it Old Blue. She also played on a softball team in Boise and enjoyed time with her nephew Sam and niece Christina. Nearing retirement, she traveled to Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii with her stepmom Donna and others.
She moved to Middleton in 2004 and had a great time building and furnishing a house.
Nancy became ill in December of 2009 and was shortly moved to a care center, remaining in the care centers the rest of her life.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father Bill and mother Vella.
Thank you to Gene and Treva Showman, who became like her surrogate parents, and to Pat Bernhard and Gabby for their support.
A graveside service will be held Friday, Nov 30, 2018, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weiser at 11:30 a.m.
